Responsibilities
- Designing high quality analogue and digital circuits for client projects at all stages within the product development lifecycle, from feasibility through to manufacture.
- Leading the electronics hardware development within multidisciplinary projects, collaborating with software, mechanical and manufacturing engineers to decompose complex requirements and establish the most appropriate system architecture.
- Leading and/or significantly contributing to design review, FMEA and DFM activities.
- Interacting with our clients to plan projects, identify and formalise design requirements, implement, test, and ultimately hand over finished designs.
- Architecting and leading integration, issue resolution and verification activities at hardware and system level, including oversight of specialist external labs
Requirements
- A proven track record of the full product development lifecycle of multiple electronics designs.
- A hands-on passion for designing both analogue and digital circuits.
- Passionate about learning new electronic technologies.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication skills.
- Detailed project planning and execution experience.
- Good academic background with a degree or postgraduate qualification in electronics, engineering, or a related subject.
Additional knowledge and skills beneficial to this role
- Proven FPGA hardware design experience including VHDL / Verilog programming.
- Simulation of designs using Spice and/or RF simulators
- Experience in motion control (actuators and sensors) and robotic systems would be advantageous.
- RF design, test and compliance to 6GHz would be advantageous
- Experience with requirements management tools and systems would be advantageous.

Your work will predominately be based at our Sagentia offices in Harston, Cambridge. There may also be opportunities to travel to client sites in Europe or USA as well as to support project work at other Science Group sites. As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead project teams, utilising and improving on your electronic engineering competencies, and leadership skills, on projects across these sectors.
Projects can range in length from a couple of months to several years and will typically use a talented and collaborative cross-disciplinary team to provide best practise product development expertise in electronics, mechanical and software design.
