Sagentia supports local families and keyworkers
In response to the ongoing coronavirus crisis which has left families struggling to put food on the table and keyworkers battling to get food from depleted supermarkets, Sagentia and Leatherhead Food Research, both Science Group companies, have donated £3000 to various charities local to their Cambridge and Epsom offices.
Mike Painter, Science Group HR Director said “As a business, we take our corporate social responsibility very seriously and we are committed to making a tangible difference in the local community. With that in mind, I am pleased to share that we will be donating a total of £1000/month to local food charities in Cambridge and Epsom for the next 3 months.”
Near the Cambridge, UK headquarters a total of £1500 worth of fresh fruit and vegetable will be delivered by Cambridge Fruit Company to The Red Hen Project, who support local vulnerable families, and to NHS workers at Addenbrookes hospital.
Director of Cambridge Fruit Company Neil Bharadwa said “It’s incredible and amazing to receive this donation from Sagentia. The feedback from NHS staff is that they’re so grateful for healthy snacks and it’s so uplifting and morale boosting. The Red Hen Project has had notes left on front doors from the families receiving the donations saying, ‘Thank you so much for your fruit and veg, we really appreciate it, you are amazing, Thank you’. These donations mean a lot to those receiving them and they are making an instant impact to the lives of those receiving them.”
Near our Epsom offices a total of £1500 will be donated to Epsom & Ewell Food Bank over the next 3 months.
