Our client has been carrying out research to develop a PDMS-based, high-performance  CO² sorbent. They asked Sagentia Innovation to create a project proposal describing the methodology to address these critical questions:

1. What is the appetite from end users in the EU and US biogas market for  CO² separation technology?
2. How can a connection be established with potential end-users in the EU and US biogas market?
3. What additional applications, beyond biogas, could be identified in the EU and US and how to connect them with end-users?
4. Within these markets (biogas and non-biogas) what are the opportunities to utilise the recovered liquid  CO²? What is the associated value chain?

The project story:

• Sagentia Innovation did some preparation work and reviewed material shared by the client prior to the kick-off meeting
• We prepared a technical one-pager to entice participation from interview targets and interview questionnaires
• We interviewed multiple companies. The level of interest of the client’s carbon capture technology varied from one company to another
• We recommended that the client prepares solid, evidenced responses to the challenges raised in our interviews, especially pressure requirements and needs from several companies
• Sagentia Innovation assisted in the introductions of the top companies listed.

Results: deliverables and outcomes

Several presentation files were produced, and an introduction to potential users of the client’s carbon capture technology was within one month of the project’s end.
