Electronics Engineer

Responsibilities 

  • Designing high-quality analogue and digital circuits for client projects at all stages within the product development lifecycle, from feasibility through to manufacture. 
  • Contributing to the electronics hardware development within multidisciplinary projects; understanding how electronic requirements are derived from the system architecture, in collaboration with software, mechanical and manufacturing engineers.  
  • Interacting with our clients to plan projects, identify and formalise design requirements, implement, test, and ultimately hand over finished designs.  
  • Driving integration, issue resolution and verification activities at hardware and subsystem level. 

Requirements 

  • A proven track record of the full product development lifecycle of electronics design. 
  • A hands-on passion for designing both analogue and digital circuits. 
  • Passionate about learning new electronic technologies.  
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication skills. 
  • First or 2:1 degree, or postgraduate qualification in electronics, engineering, or a related subject. 

Additional knowledge and skills beneficial to this role 

  • FPGA hardware design experience including VHDL / Verilog programming. 
  • Simulation of designs using Spice and/or RF simulators. 
  • Experience in motion control (actuators and sensors) systems would be advantageous. 
  • RF design, test and compliance to 6GHz would be advantageous.
  • Embedded C/C++ software design experience.

You will be based at our Sagentia Innovation offices in Harston, Cambridge with opportunities for short travel to client sites in Europe or USA. We have dozens of projects in the medical, industrial, consumer, and food and beverage sectors, working with many of the world’s leading and best-known brands, As an Electronics Engineer, you will have the opportunity to use and improve your electronics engineering competencies and develop leadership skills on projects across these sectors. 

Projects can range in length from a couple of months to several years and will typically use a talented and collaborative cross-disciplinary team to provide best-practice product development expertise in electronics, mechanical and software design.
