Our client needed to improve the stability of
a chemical formulation after alterations were
made to enhance its sustainability credentials.

The project story:

We examined several promising strategies which had the potential
to fulfil our client’s needs, using our detailed understanding of
formulation chemistry, and measured each strategy against the
client’s desired objectives. We also researched examples of these
strategies being used for a similar chemical purpose, when broken
down to basic principles, across different industries.

Our research included interviews, with technology experts in
academia and industry, which validated the use of these strategies
and their applicability to our client’s challenge. Technologies within
prioritised strategies were then evaluated based on key criteria,
including sustainability compatibility, cost, development stage and
ease of engagement with potential partners.

Results: deliverables and outcomes

We recommended new approaches to stabilising the client’s
formulation in the near-term, as well as academic partners they
could engage with to develop longer-term innovations.
