Food waste upcycling: viable and effective opportunities for success

The food and beverage industry is under increasing pressure to cut upstream food waste.

Companies are being challenged to be more transparent in their supply chains and to take action now to meet the UN’s sustainable development goal, set five years ago, to halve food waste by 2030.

Dave Lewis – the boss of Tesco (and who stepped down at the end of September 2020) even called this a “once-in-a-generation opportunity” to tackle food waste as the coronavirus pandemic focuses minds on global supplies:
